bhs student serves thanksgiving meals

Be part of our Binghamton Schools family this Thanksgiving! The annual holiday meal returns to the Binghamton High School cafeteria on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27th.

"The best part of the day is when you see the look on the community members' faces," said BHS Senior Samantha Dalmolen. "The students love conversing with the people who come to the dinner and it just feels great to spread love and kindness during the holidays."

Students from National Honor Society organize the free dinner and help prepare and serve the meals which are cooked by the Binghamton High School Food Services staff. More than 700 pounds of turkey, potatoes, corn, stuffing, & cranberry sauce are prepared by the end of the day, in addition to more than 600 dinner rolls and 80 pies. The event typically welcomes around 500 people throughout the day.

"I think that it's fundamental for students to give back to the community that raised them and this is a wonderful opportunity to do so," said BHS Senior Tatev Dadien.

The dinner is open to everyone in the community. There is no take out option, but anyone who needs transportation to the dinner can get picked up and dropped off by bus at the following times and locations:
